About the Gaming Blog Nexus

The Gaming Blog Nexus was created as a direct result of the Newbie Blogger Initiative. It seemed common sense to have a blog aggregation service that collates all the latest posts from the best gaming blogs on the internet. At present the site is still “work in progress” with a great deal of fine tuning to be done. However, the basics are in place and working. Things will simply improve over time.

FAQ:

Q: So what goes the Gaming Blog Nexus do?

A: The site aggregates content from contributor sites via their feeds. It reposts the first paragraph (or so) of any new post to the GBN homepage. These are displayed in chronological order. When a readers clicks on the post headline, it takes them directly to the full source post on the original website.

Q: What are the benefits of the Gaming Blog Nexus?

A: There are multiple benefits. All the latests posts from the best gaming sites around in one place. Readers will be able to easily find your blog. Traffic to your site will increase and you’ll find a wider audience.

Q: What’s the catch?

A: There isn’t one. This service is free and is designed to bring the gaming blogging community together. Joining the nexus is voluntary and you can leave at any time for whatever reason. I just thought that a service such as the GBN would make keep upto date with all your favourite blogs a little easier. Surely that’s a good thing?

Acknowledgements:

I was inspired to create this site by Tony who runs the LOTRO Combo Blog. It is an invaluable part of the LOTRO community and was instrumental in helping me establish my blog back in 2009. It is therefore only fit that I acknowledge his contribution. Thanks for sharing the “knowledge”.

I’d also like to say thanks to Syp from Bio Break for setting up the Newbie Blogger Initiative and giving the gaming blogging community a shot in the arm at a time when it needed one.

Last but not least, my good friend Brian for his support, enthusiasm and letting me yell at him on Skype. Thanks man.

Baldy doesn’t get a mention this time and quite right to.
